Queens Quarter Housing provides Dispersed Intensively Managed Emergency Housing (DIME) to the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, focusing on individuals and families experiencing acute housing need. For over 20 years, the organization has delivered housing solutions and support services to people who are socially excluded and isolated. Queens Quarter Housing works in partnership with local agencies and community services to promote safety, stability, and wellbeing for residents. The team is committed to person-centered support, dignity, and respect in every aspect of service delivery.
Role Description
The Project Support Worker is a full-time on-site role based in the Belfast Metropolitan Area, supporting individuals living in emergency housing. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Providing practical and emotional support to residents
- Assisting with daily living skills
- Helping people engage with appropriate health, welfare, and community services

- Monitoring resident wellbeing
- Maintaining accurate records
- Contributing to risk assessments and safeguarding procedures
The Project Support Worker will:
- Collaborate closely with colleagues and partner agencies
- Support move-on plans into more settled housing
- Help ensure that accommodation is safe, well-maintained, and conducive to recovery and stability
Qualifications
- Experience in support work or similar roles, with a strong commitment to person-centered practice and empowerment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication abilities, including active listening and clear, respectful engagement with residents and colleagues.
- Knowledge of safeguarding principles and procedures, and the ability to identify and respond appropriately to concerns about safety or wellbeing.
- Ability to provide basic technical support related to housing and support services (e.g., using case management systems, completing online forms, supporting residents with digital access).
- Understanding of homelessness, social exclusion, and trauma-informed approaches, with the resilience to work in a challenging environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team, follow established policies and procedures, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Basic IT skills (email, word processing, data entry) and willingness to learn organizational systems.
- Relevant qualifications in social care, housing, community work, or a related field, or equivalent experience; knowledge of the local support network in the Belfast area is an advantage.
