RS-Geo is a landfall and nearshore survey specialist focused on characterizing complex coastal and nearshore environments where traditional survey techniques are less effective. Role Description
The Project Surveyor is a full-time, on-site role based in Faringdon, Oxfordshire. This position is responsible for planning and executing landfall and nearshore surveys using a mix of uncrewed and crewed platforms, as well as traditional land-based techniques.

Responsibilities:

- Organizing survey campaigns
- Operating survey equipment
- Collecting and validating geospatial and geophysical data
- Ensuring data quality and consistency with offshore datasets
- Preparing survey reports
- Collaborating with project managers and technical specialists
- Contributing to health, safety, and environmental compliance on all field operations
- Liaising with clients
- Supporting project delivery timelines
- Helping refine survey methodologies to improve efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications
- Strong experience with land, coastal, and nearshore surveying techniques, including GNSS, total stations, and hydrographic survey methods.
- Hands-on skills in operating and coordinating uncrewed aerial and surface vehicles, as well as shallow-draft crewed vessels.
- Proficiency in survey data processing and GIS or mapping software (e.g., CAD, GIS platforms, hydrographic processing tools).
- Solid understanding of geology, geomorphology, or geophysics relevant to coastal and nearshore environments.
- Demonstrated ability to plan fieldwork, manage logistics, and work safely in challenging marine and coastal conditions.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and engaging with project teams and clients.
- Ability to work collaboratively on-site, take initiative, and maintain attention to detail in data collection and documentation.
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in surveying, geomatics, geography, geology, or a related discipline; professional certifications in surveying or hydrography are an advantage.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental best practices in marine and field operations.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to coastal and nearshore project sites as required.
