At Skanska, We’re Shaping the Way We Live, Work and Connect
As one of the world’s largest construction and development companies, we work together with customers, communities and partners to shape a better society.
About the Role
You will be working in the Building team where Skanska is delivering 55 Old Broad Street, a major workplace destination that will provide around 270,000 sq. ft of high-quality, future-ready office space across 23-storeys in Liverpool Street, central London. Our UK teams will also deliver the full mechanical, electrical and public health systems installation, Cat A fit-out as well as public realm improvements, and the sensitive refurbishment of the historic Grade II-listed Bishopsgate Victorian Bath House.
We are currently looking for a Project Surveyor who will join the commercial team on a prestigious £280 million commercial development project. The role involves supporting package procurement and cost control, ensuring the financial performance of work packages is accurately reported and effectively managed, and helping to identify, mitigate and resolve commercial issues. The Project Surveyor will also oversee subcontract obligations and carry out all duties in line with company policies, IMS procedures, and key governance guidelines.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
