6 Month Secondment Opportunity - Internal Only

We’re looking for a motivated and capable individual to join our team as a Project Surveyor. At Southern Housing, we are committed to delivering safe, well-maintained homes and high-quality asset management services for our residents, and this role plays an important part in achieving that.

About the Role

Reporting to the relevant Senior Projects Managers (London and Counties) you’ll be responsible for the delivery of Complex Projects, covering Contract and Direct Services. Ensuring these projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively, while maintaining excellent customer satisfaction. You’ll work closely with residents, contractors, leaseholders, resident groups, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered to agreed quality standards, within budget, and in compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing Complex Projects from inception through to completion, ensuring delivery to agreed quality, budget, and timescale targets.
  • Undertaking property surveys, defect analysis, technical appraisals, and preparing specifications and schedules of work for tender.
  • Managing contractor performance, monitoring project progress, and ensuring compliance with Southern Housing's contract management framework and health and safety requirements.
  • Building strong relationships with residents, leaseholders, and stakeholder groups, keeping them informed and consulted throughout project delivery.
  • Managing complex repairs, complaints, budgets, risk assessments, and project records while providing technical advice to colleagues and stakeholders.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
