Make a Global Impact with ASC - Setting the Standard for Seafood

ASC International - Aquaculture Stewardship Council is an independent, non-profit organisation, originally founded by WWF in 2010. We are committed to continuous improvement of global seafood farming practices towards environmental and social sustainability.

Job Overview

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract for 12 months with a possible extension. Remote & flexible working.

Salary: Circa 40,000 to 48,000 GBP per annum varying based on locations, experience, and skills.

Location: UK-based, however, other locations within Europe may be considered.

Why This Role?

We are seeking a knowledgeable, organised, and highly collaborative Project Technical Coordinator – Health and Welfare to join our Standards and Science team for an initial 12-month fixed-term period.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of ASC's responsible animal health and welfare work, with a specific focus on this shrimp slaughter project.

You will support the development and implementation of project activities focused on applied technology, animal welfare, and responsible practices within shrimp aquaculture.

Working closely with the Standards Manager – Health & Welfare and Project Managers across ASC, you will help ensure that project activities, timelines, resources, budgets, and deliverables are effectively coordinated and managed.

You will be a confident influencer and strong organiser, able to engage with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. You will bring structure, momentum, and excellent coordination skills to complex projects involving researchers, technology developers, producers, and other stakeholders around the world.

A key element of the role will involve supporting on-site activities, including the application and reporting of ASC animal welfare and shrimp standards. You will also contribute to impact and value reporting, helping shape the development of ASC standards and animal welfare approaches into the future.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain project schedules across multiple phased workstreams, including the research agenda, method evaluation, SOP development, and field trial coordination.
  • Coordinate project activities, timelines, deliverables, and resources to ensure work remains aligned with agreed objectives.
  • Track project budgets and monitor expenditure against allocated budgets, identifying variances and supporting forecasting.
  • Coordinate meetings and workshops, including scheduling, agenda-setting, minute-taking, and follow-up action tracking.
  • Support the commissioning of external researchers and technology providers, including contracts, deliverable tracking, and invoice coordination.
  • Act as a key connective point between the Standards Manager – Health & Welfare, Project Managers, and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain a central repository of project documentation, ensuring effective version control and accessibility of key project information.
  • Compile project status, impact, and value reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate workstreams involving equipment trials, field activities, and technology developers.
  • Track technical specifications, animal welfare indicators, and validation protocols, ensuring outputs remain aligned with project objectives.
  • Support technology demonstrations, farm site visits, and knowledge-sharing activities with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Help coordinate and guide the practical application of ASC animal welfare and shrimp standards in relevant settings.
  • Support the translation of technical and scientific findings into clear, practical guidance for producers and supply-chain audiences.
  • Work collaboratively across ASC teams and with external partners to maintain project momentum and deliver agreed outcomes.
  • Contribute to impact and value reporting and lessons learned to inform future ASC standards development.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
