About the role
You’ll play a key part in our Active Nottingham team, delivering a hyper-local, place-based approach, working across three connected levels of change: people and neighbourhoods, the workforce and the system to address the high levels of physical inactivity in the area.
We’re looking for a energetic and enthusiastic project worker with the ability to inspire young people experiencing challenges to engage in positive physical activities.
Alongside this you’ll work the community and professionals in the Leamington Ward to support a neighbourhood in making a real impact in the lives of children and young people by building opportunities for physical activity which is embedded into the community
Please note, as this is youth work, there will be a focus on delivering work after school, including in the evenings.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
