Role Description

Project Quoting & Commercial Management

  • Produce accurate, competitive project quotations ranging from £20k to £150k, occasionally up to £500k+.
  • Read and interpret pre-designed specifications and drawings to produce compliant quotes.
  • Make commercially sound decisions on prelims, mark-ups, and margins to achieve company sales and profit targets.
  • Compile quotation letters, draft programmes, and technical submissions for formal bid presentation.

Site Assessment & Client Solutions

  • Attend site surveys to assess client requirements and design suitable project solutions.
  • Offer value-engineered and greener solutions where applicable to enhance client proposals.

Supplier & Subcontractor Engagement

  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive and compliant pricing on a quote-by-quote basis.
  • Secure buy-in from key suppliers to ensure delivery feasibility post-award.

Internal Process & Collaboration

  • Present all bids for internal approval via the Gate Process before final submission.
  • Work closely with engineers, project managers, and the delivery team to ensure technical and commercial alignment.
  • Contribute to process improvements and innovation in the estimating function.

Reporting & Meetings

  • Attend client and labour meetings when necessary to discuss scope or clarify technical details.
