James Robertshaw & Sons is one of the UK's leading designers, manufacturers, and installers of bespoke blinds, awnings, and retractable roofing solutions. Everything we make is designed and manufactured at our Bolton headquarters and has been for over 160 years.
Job Description:
We are looking for a new star to add to our busy office, working within our small and friendly sales office as part of the Estimating team, to give excellent service to our new and existing customers. James Robertshaw Ltd manufactures and supplies to a variety of market sectors including hospitality, education, health care, construction, residential and trade customers throughout the UK from our base in Horwich, near Bolton. We have continued to grow throughout the pandemic and, with ambitious plans for the future, the company is looking to strengthen the overall customer experience, and integral to this is the Projects Estimator role.
Working within our busy sales office, you will be responsible for:
- With experience working with clients to find the best product specification to suit their needs and site conditions.
- Working heavily in Excel and Word to provide quality quotations to our client base.
- Calculating travel times and installation times, allowing for access equipment as well as product content within your calculations.
- Liaising closely with suppliers to ensure costs are kept up to date in our systems, including the stock management system and trade dealer price lists.
- Support the administration team with customer enquiries and technical support or costing advice.
- Provide support cover to the administration team, where required (annual leave).

The Ideal Candidate:
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are a must-have for this position, in both verbal and written form. These skills are especially necessary in establishing a client's needs, dealing with external partners and internal colleagues. Good spelling and grammar are essential, as is possessing an excellent telephone manner.
- IT: Must be highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access and Outlook and be generally computer literate.
- Interpersonal Skills: Will be passionate and highly energetic in their approach to work, self-motivated with a can-do attitude, and able to work under minimal supervision. Will be proactive.
- People Skills: Ability to build lasting relationships with numerous clients as well as having an instinct to consider other team members' duties whilst performing your own - being helpful.
- Experience in a sales support or administrator role in a customer-focussed environment.
- First-rate Customer Service skills.
- Experience in and a good ability to prioritise workload.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work to deadlines.
- Keen willingness to learn about our wide range of products.

Experience:
- Minimum 3 years' customer service experience (required).
- Experience reading plan drawings, including CAD (preferred).
- Reporting to: Client Relationship Manager.
