Projects Manager – Groundworks & Civils

Location: Burntwood, Staffordshire
Salary: £50,000 to £55,000
Contract: Permanent

Saxon Chase Recruitment are working with an established specialist contractor based in Burntwood to recruit an experienced Projects Manager.

The business delivers projects across groundworks, civil engineering, earthworks, retaining walls, erosion control, hydroseeding, geotechnical works and other specialist construction projects.

This is a senior position with responsibility for managing projects from pre-construction and early costing through to completion.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple projects from planning through to completion
  • Develop project programmes and manage resources
  • Monitor project costs, forecasts and commercial risks
  • Manage clients, subcontractors and site teams
  • Lead weekly operational and project meetings
  • Manage project documentation, quality assurance and health and safety
  • Identify project risks, delays and delivery issues
  • Support pre-construction and early-stage costing
  • Track variations and additional project costs
  • Report project performance to senior management
  • Lead project close-out and lessons-learned reviews

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a Projects Manager or Contracts Manager within groundworks, civil engineering or a related specialist construction sector.

Experience across earthworks, retaining walls, geotechnical works, erosion control or specialist contracting would also be relevant.

You should have strong project management, commercial awareness, communication and client management skills.
