Proof Inspector - Turbine Systems

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Proof Inspector within the ABCF.
The successful applicant will be part of a small team working in a modern bespoke proof inspection room. They will be required to create & run measurement programs using CMM’s & other non-contact measurement equipment in support of part validation, investigations & improvements.

Key Accountabilities:
- Creation & running of Proof CMM programs for First Article Inspection of Turbine Blades.
- Creation of Production CMM programs for production gauging and measurement.
- Creation of 3D Structured Light (Zeiss) programs for FAIr and investigations.
- Calibration control of CMM’s and 3DSL production and proof equipment.
- Maintain and create measurement approval brochures.
- Support Production measurement system validation activity.
- Support Manufacturing engineering with measurement solutions.

Qualifications:
- Candidates will have demonstrated experience of Mitotoyo CMM Programming suite MCOSMOS and CAT1000 or similar.
- Experience programming and testing data acquisition on GOM/Ziess 3D Structured Light systems.
- Experience of program creation and validation in Polyworks
- Previous experience of Proof FAIr inspection and aerofoil alignment methods
- NPL Level 1 and NPL Level 2 training desirable.
- Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration and Measurement Gauge R&R principles.
- A high computer literacy and an ability to communicate effectively on technical issues need to be demonstrated.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver work autonomously to defined deadlines.
You will be based at the Rotherham site but may need to work or train at both the Derby and the Rotherham sites as and when required, and you will work for the production operations team but will be managed daily through the manufacturing Engineering function.
