THE TEAM
Are you ready to play a vital behind-the-scenes role in the legendary world of Coronation Street? We’re looking for a passionate and hands-on Prop Store Operative to join our dynamic team in Manchester. This isn't just an inventory job; it’s the heartbeat of our set design. You’ll be the go-to expert managing our vast collection, ensuring that everything from iconic furniture to daily consumables is perfectly logged, stored, and ready to bring the cobbles to life. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a knack for keeping things organised, this is your chance to make a real impact on a production that millions know and love.
THE ROLE
We need someone who loves variety as much as we do! Whether you’re assisting with set dressing, tackling a DIY repair, or coordinating with production buyers, no two days here are ever the same. You’ll be a vital problem-solver, working collaboratively across teams to ensure our productions run efficiently and sustainably. If you have strong practical skills, a sharp eye for detail, and the enthusiasm to hit the ground running in a supportive, high-energy environment, we want to hear from you. Come join us in keeping the magic of Coronation Street seamless, safe, and visually spectacular!
SKILLS YOU’LL NEED (MINIMUM CRITERIA)
- Good administrative and record-keeping skills, with an understanding of the inventory process of goods in and out within a prop store
- This role will involve carrying, manoeuvring and organising heavy props and furniture on a daily basis. You must have the knowledge and experience of how to lift and carry safely.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to set design and prop storage environments.
- The ability to work both independently unsupervised and as part of a team
- A willingness to learn and progress within the Props Department, and a passion for the job and all that it entails with positivity and enthusiasm
- Full Clean driving licence (or equivalent arrangements as part of a reasonable adjustment where a disability has been disclosed)

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
