Property Accountant (Client-side)
Location: Oxford
Salary: £49,000–£55,000 + Benefits
Hours: Full-time | Office Based
About the Role
We are seeking a Property Accountant to join a client-side property team managing a diverse commercial property portfolio. You'll be responsible for rent accounting, service charge management, budgeting and financial reporting, ensuring accurate financial records and supporting the effective management of the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage rent accounting, including rent demands, tenant invoicing, lease events and rent ledger maintenance.
- Administer service charge budgets, expenditure, reconciliations, and cost recovery.
- Produce monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Complete month-end accounting, reconciliations, VAT, and audit support.
- Maintain accurate property and financial records within the property management system.
- Support credit control and drive continuous improvements to financial processes.

About You
- Qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, AAT, or equivalent).
- Previous experience in commercial property accounting.
- Strong knowledge of rent accounting and service charge budgeting and reconciliations.
- Excellent Excel skills and experience with property management or accounting systems.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Desirable
- Experience with Horizon, MRI, Yardi, Qube, or similar property software.
- Knowledge of property VAT, Option to Tax, and RICS Commercial Service Charge guidance.
