Property Accountant
Outside IR35: £350 per day
Hybrid/ 2-3 dpw in London
ASAP – 3 months initial
We are recruiting a Property Accountant to support the financial and operational management of a substantial property portfolio. The role will cover property-level reporting, service charge accounting, reconciliations, financial planning and compliance with relevant lease terms and controls. You will work across property management and finance teams, providing financial insight to support operational and commercial decision-making.
Role responsibilities
- Maintain management and financial transactions within SAP and Horizon.
- Produce accurate property-level management reporting and financial information.
- Manage service charge accounting, reconciliations and associated financial controls.
- Partner with property managers, data teams and credit controllers to provide a consolidated view of financial performance.
- Collect, consolidate and review financial-planning information, including supporting risks and opportunities.
- Produce forecasts and contribute to short- and long-term business planning.
- Provide analysis and insight to support operational decisions, business cases and new initiatives.
- Work with local and central finance teams to improve processes and maintain an effective finance service.

Key experience and requirements

- CCAB or CIMA qualification, or demonstrable qualification by experience.
- Experience working as a Property Accountant or in a similar property-focused finance role.
- Knowledge of service charge accounting, property-level reporting and financial reconciliations.
- Experience producing management reports, budgets, forecasts and variance analysis.
- Working knowledge of professional accounting standards, risk management and financial controls.
- Experience using SAP; knowledge of Horizon or comparable property-management systems would be beneficial.
- Ability to explain financial information to operational and non-finance stakeholders.
- Commercial awareness and experience supporting managers with financial planning and decision-making.
