Assistant Property Accountant
Cobalt is working with a leading global real estate and property management business looking to appoint an Assistant Property Accountant into its established Financial Management team in Norwich.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the early stages of their finance career who wants to develop specialist experience within property accounting and real estate finance. Working alongside experienced Property Accountants and wider property management teams, you'll gain exposure to the financial management and reporting of a portfolio of commercial properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Support financial reporting across a portfolio of managed properties.
- Assist with Trial Balance and VAT reporting.
- Prepare control account and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Review and reconcile tenant and landlord recoveries.
- Monitor property funding and investigate discrepancies.
- Support ad hoc client and portfolio reporting.
- Assist with the financial mobilisation and demobilisation of properties.
- Respond to accounting queries from clients and occupiers.
- Work closely with Property Accountants, surveyors, property managers, Treasury and wider finance teams.
- Maintain appropriate financial controls and support delivery against agreed deadlines and KPIs.

About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:
- Previous experience within accounts, finance or property accounting.
- AAT qualification/studies or an ambition to pursue further accounting qualifications.
- Good understanding of accounting fundamentals and reconciliations.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical ability.
- Confidence communicating with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines within a busy environment.
- Experience with Yardi, MRI, Horizon or another property accounting system would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
