Property Acquisition & Disposal Surveyor

£500 per day (Inside IR35)
Hybrid – 2 days per week onsite Glenfield County Hall (Wednesday mandatory)
Contract until November 2026

We are recruiting for an experienced Property Acquisition & Disposal Surveyor to join a public sector organisation on a long-term contract supporting the management of a £519m property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload of property acquisitions and disposals.
  • Develop and deliver acquisition, disposal, and investment strategies.
  • Identify surplus or underperforming assets and recommend opportunities to maximise value.
  • Undertake financial and commercial appraisals to assess the viability of property transactions.
  • Negotiate with developers, landowners, agents, and other stakeholders to secure the best outcomes.
  • Instruct and manage external property consultants and legal advisers.
  • Provide strategic advice on planning, development, acquisitions, and disposals.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations for senior stakeholders and committees.
  • Support the development of the organisation's Asset Management Plan and wider property strategy.
  • Monitor budgets, expenditure, and performance relating to property projects.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, governance requirements, and organisational policies.

  • Experience managing commercial property acquisitions and disposals.
  • Strong knowledge of property, asset management, and estate management.
  • Experience carrying out commercial and financial appraisals.
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to prepare reports and present recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of planning, property legislation, and governance.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
