As a Property & Facilities Technical Officer, you'll play a key role in ensuring the safe, compliant and effective delivery of maintenance, facilities management and utility services across a complex operational site. Working with contractors, stakeholders and specialist service providers, you'll help keep essential infrastructure performing at its best while maintaining the highest standards of safety, environmental responsibility and operational excellence.
What You Will Be Doing
You'll be at the centre of site facilities and maintenance delivery, providing technical oversight and ensuring contracted services are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with regulatory requirements. From managing maintenance and facilities contracts to supporting utility services and ensuring robust safety arrangements, you'll play an important role in maintaining a safe and productive working environment. You'll also build strong relationships with contractors and stakeholders, helping to drive performance, compliance and continuous improvement across the site.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the delivery of maintenance and facilities management contracts, ensuring work is completed safely, to quality standards and in accordance with contract requirements.
- Monitoring contractor performance, providing technical support and ensuring compliance with company procedures, site licence conditions and statutory regulations.
- Producing, reviewing and supporting Safe Systems of Work, including risk assessments, method statements and work instructions.
- Managing utility-related activities, including contractor liaison, monitoring upgrades and repairs, and supporting energy usage and environmental reporting.

Who We Are Looking For
We're seeking a proactive and safety-focused individual with experience working in an engineering, maintenance or operational environment. You'll be comfortable coordinating multiple activities, managing contractors and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and compliance will be essential to your success in this role.
To be successful, you'll have:
- An HNC in an Engineering or Technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience working within engineering, maintenance, facilities or operational environments, including supervising contractors or teams.
- Good knowledge of IT systems, including Microsoft Office and electronic maintenance management systems such as Mainsaver or similar.
- A strong understanding of safe working practices, with IOSH Managing Safely and knowledge of asbestos management (S-267) being advantageous.
Additional Information
This role may require occasional travel to other sites and attendance at off-site meetings. Flexibility, collaboration and a willingness to support wider business objectives will be important as you contribute to the successful delivery of facilities and infrastructure services.
