Hotel Tresanton, part of The Polizzi Collection, is a chic coastal retreat in the picturesque fishing village of St Mawes, Cornwall. Originally a cluster of five houses, it has been transformed by Olga Polizzi into a stylish hotel known for elegant, understated design. The 31 bedrooms and suites feature Cornish art, antiques, and sea views towards St Anthony’s lighthouse. Guests enjoy a Beach Club on the waterfront in summer, a restaurant specializing in fresh simply prepared fish, and access to the hotel’s classic yacht, Pinuccia, for sailing around Falmouth Bay. The surrounding area offers historic sites, scenic coastal walks, and a vibrant local community, making it an inspiring place to work.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Property and Maintenance Manager role based at Hotel Tresanton in St Mawes. The hands-on role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance and presentation of the hotel buildings, guest rooms, Beach Club, and surrounding grounds to ensure they are safe, functional, and visually appealing.
The Property and Maintenance Manager will supervise maintenance team members and external contractors, allocate work, and track progress to minimize disruption to guests.

Key tasks include managing maintenance schedules, coordinating preventative and reactive repairs, monitoring equipment performance, management of winter works project, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
The role also involves identifying improvement opportunities, managing maintenance budgets and purchasing, and working closely with hotel leadership to support smooth operations and a high-quality guest experience.
Qualifications
- Strong supervisory skills, including experience leading maintenance teams and coordinating contractors.
- Proficiency in equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance for building systems and hotel facilities.
- Experience in maintenance management, including planning, scheduling, and prioritizing repair and upkeep tasks.
- Hands-on maintenance and repair skills across areas such as basic plumbing, electrical and general building maintenance.
- Good understanding of health, safety, and compliance requirements in a hospitality or similar environment.
- Ability to diagnose issues, propose practical solutions, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across departments.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance records, scheduling, and reporting; familiarity with maintenance software is an advantage.
- Relevant vocational training or qualifications in building services, facilities management, or a related trade are beneficial.
- Previous experience in hotel, hospitality, or property management environments is preferred.

Salary Range
- from £37K - £40K plus a pro rata share of the hotel service charge
Hours
- 40 hours per week, requiring flexibility to cover weekends as needed, plus overtime dependent on projects
