Property & Casualty Underwriter
Location: London / Hybrid Salary: up to 80k plus benefits
The Opportunity
An ambitious and growing specialist insurer is looking to appoint a Property & Casualty Underwriter to join its expanding underwriting team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an underwriter looking to build a long-term career within a business where performance is recognised, development is encouraged, and progression is genuinely achievable. The successful individual will work closely with an experienced leadership team and, for the right person, there is a clear pathway towards Senior Underwriter within the next 12–18 months.
The Role
You'll be responsible for underwriting a portfolio of new and existing commercial business, working closely with brokers to develop profitable relationships while delivering excellent service.
The role offers a balance of new business development, renewals, and broker engagement, allowing you to build your market profile while developing your technical underwriting expertise.

What You'll Be Doing
What We're Looking For
We're keen to speak with underwriters who have around 3–5 years' commercial underwriting experience, although those with additional experience will also be considered where the background is a strong fit.

- Underwriting Property & Casualty risks across new business and renewals.
- Developing and maintaining strong broker relationships.
- Trading business within agreed underwriting authority.
- Supporting profitable portfolio growth through sound underwriting decisions.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver excellent broker service.
- Identifying opportunities to grow existing broker accounts and develop new relationships.
- Contributing to the continued growth of an ambitious underwriting business.
You'll ideally have experience of:
- Property Owners
- Commercial Combined
- Construction risks (desirable but not essential)
