Role Description
We are seeking an experienced and driven Litigation Solicitor to join our busy London office. The successful candidate will take on a varied and complex caseload heavily weighted toward Property Litigation (80%), supplemented by high-value Commercial Litigation matters (20%). This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile disputes, manage your own caseload, and work closely with the partners to expand the department’s footprint.

Key Responsibilities
Property Litigation (Approx. 80%)
- Advising large corporate occupiers and asset managers on landlord and tenant disputes.
- Managing cases involving commercial forfeiture, relief from forfeiture, and contested break notices.
- Handling Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 renewals and opposed lease renewals.
- Dealing with contested rent reviews and complex service charge litigation.
- Managing real property disputes, including boundary disputes, adverse possession claims, and easements.
- Dealing with insolvency matters insofar as they relate to property.
Commercial Litigation (Approx. 20%)
- Advising on complex joint venture disputes and commercial insolvency matters.
- Handling shareholder disputes, including bringing and defending Section 994 (unfair prejudice) petitions.
- Managing commercial disputes arising within the education sector, including breaches of partnership and distribution arrangements.
- Leading on disclosure in the business and property courts, drafting witness statements, and managing all steps to trial.
- Formulating strategic, cost-effective solutions tailored to clients' commercial realities.

The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Solicitor: Demonstrable post-qualification experience managing a mixed property and commercial litigation caseload of 3-4 years.
- Business Development: A proactive networker with a proven track record of business development. A partial or established client following, or existing introducer relationships, is highly preferable.
- Collaborative Team Player: A team-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative department and can integrate seamlessly with the existing leadership and junior staff.
- Commercial Acumen: A strategic thinker who understands the commercial pressures facing corporate occupiers and asset managers.
- Communication: Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and client-handling skills.
