Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Check the compliance tracker for certificates and licences expiring soon (gas safety, EICR, EPC, alarms, fire risk assessments) and book renewals or contractors.
- Process incoming documents, such as new certificates from engineers, and upload them to the right property file.
- Handle emails and calls from landlords, tenants, contractors and agents about compliance queries, access and appointments.
- Liaise with the council on inspections, notices and licence applications, and draft or send correspondence in response.
- Prepare and chase tenancy paperwork, including agreements, deposit protection, prescribed information and statutory documents.
- Raise and follow up works orders for safety-related repairs or installations, and make sure completion certificates come back.
- Support notices and move-outs by preparing paperwork, liaising with solicitors and helping tenants who are leaving.
- Update records and reports so each property has a clear audit trail, and flag any risks or overdue items to management.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
