Property & Facilities Manager
30 Hours per Week (including occasional evenings)
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Property & Facilities Manager to join our friendly and dedicated team. This is a varied and rewarding role, with responsibility for helping to manage and care for the Town Council's buildings, land and community assets, ensuring they are safe, welcoming and well maintained for residents, visitors and local organisations.
With the reopening of the Town Hall approaching and a growing portfolio of community buildings and assets, this is an exciting time to join the Council and play a key role in shaping and supporting these valued community resources for the future.

About The Role
Midsomer Norton Town Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Property & Facilities Manager to lead the strategic and operational management of its buildings, parks, open spaces and community facilities, including assets held by the Midsomer Norton Town Trust.
This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring the effective management, maintenance, safety and development of the Council's property portfolio and community assets. You will oversee the day-to-day operation and upkeep of buildings, parks and facilities, ensuring full compliance with statutory obligations and health and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities Include
- Managing planned and reactive maintenance programmes.
- Leading capital improvement and asset development projects.
- Maintaining and developing the Council's asset register and management plans.
- Planning long-term investment and sustainability initiatives.
- Monitoring asset performance and identifying opportunities to improve utilisation and value.
- Managing contractors and service providers to ensure high standards of delivery.
- Line-managing the Town Warden and supporting the wider operational delivery of services.
- Developing positive relationships with local residents, community groups, partners and facility users to maximise community benefit.
About You
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Significant experience in property, facilities or asset management.
- Strong knowledge of statutory compliance requirements and health and safety legislation.
- Proven experience managing contractors, maintenance programmes, budgets and asset performance.
- Excellent organisational, communication and reporting skills.
- The ability to build positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- A proactive and solution-focused approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

Experience within local government, the public sector or charitable organisations would be advantageous, as would relevant property or health and safety qualifications.
