Company description
A Legal 500 law firm with offices in across London and the UK are seeking a Dispute Resolution solicitor with a focus on property disputes to join their busy team.
Role Description
You will join the firm’s busy London office and take on a varied and complex caseload heavily weighted toward Property Litigation (80%), supplemented by high-value Commercial Litigation matters (20%). This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile disputes, manage your own caseload, and work closely with the partners to expand the department’s footprint.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising large corporate occupiers and asset managers on landlord and tenant disputes.
- Managing cases involving commercial forfeiture, relief from forfeiture, and contested break notices.
- Handling Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 renewals and opposed lease renewals.
- Dealing with contested rent reviews and complex service charge litigation.
- Managing real property disputes, including boundary disputes, adverse possession claims, and easements.
- Dealing with insolvency matters insofar as they relate to property.
- Advising on complex joint venture disputes and commercial insolvency matters.
- Handling shareholder disputes, including bringing and defending Section 994 (unfair prejudice) petitions.
- Managing commercial disputes arising within the education sector, including breaches of partnership and distribution arrangements.
- Leading on disclosure in the business and property courts, drafting witness statements, and managing all steps to trial.
- Formulating strategic, cost-effective solutions tailored to clients' commercial realities.
