About The Firm

Our client is a progressive firm of specialist solicitors renowned for its professional yet personal service that has been advising businesses and individuals.

About the Property Litigation Team

The team works with clients all over the country and typical clients include management companies, managing agents, commercial and residential landlords and tenants, investors, developers and private landowners, all led by the Partner who is recommended individually by the Legal 500.

About the Role

This is a specialist property litigation role in which you will be required to provide advice and assistance on a wide range of property-related disputes.

Typical work will involve giving advice to landlords, tenants, management companies, managing agents and property owners, dealing with breach of covenant matters, landlord and tenant disputes, debt claims, co-ownership disputes, business lease renewals, Land Registry disputes, possession claims, easement and boundary disputes, and (if experienced in these areas) lease extensions and enfranchisement.

On a day-to-day basis you will be required to:

  • Provide sound advice to management companies, landlords, tenants and other clients by letter or email in simple language that can be easily understood
  • Meet on your own with clients for the purpose of taking instructions and giving advice
  • Write persuasive letters to opponents
  • Draft statements of case, witness statements, notices and other documents with the need to rely on counsel only in cases of genuine complexity
  • Attend court with counsel as appropriate
  • Participate in team meetings and the firm’s other internal meetings
  • Promote the firm generally and develop the practice area via regular marketing activities including attending regular networking events and writing articles, blogs and use of social media
  • Present seminars and workshops on topics within your area of practice to existing and prospective clients and referrers

About You

  • 5+ years PQE
  • Good experience of property litigation work
  • Confident, professional and friendly with the ability to build good working relationships internally and externally
  • Exceptional communication skills alongside strong organisational skills
  • Effective team player and a sense of humour
  • Able to network with local businesses and key referrers, building your own client following along the way
