About The Role
A Property Litigation Solicitor (Legal Director) is sought for a Birmingham-based national law firm. This full-time, permanent post carries a competitive salary and suits a Principal Associate or Legal Director ready to manage complex, high-value real estate disputes. The successful candidate will join a specialist property disputes team acting for clients across retail, leisure, development, investment and public sectors, handling some of the market's most significant conflicts. Duties include running a varied, technically demanding caseload, advising on landlord and tenant matters, and contributing to the growth of a highly regarded national practice. Strong advocacy, negotiation, and client management skills are essential, alongside a proven record in commercial property litigation.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Real Estate Litigation Solicitor to join the specialist property disputes team of a leading national law firm in Birmingham.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Principal Associate or Legal Director looking to work on complex, high-value real estate disputes for an impressive client base, whilst playing an active role in the continued growth and development of a highly regarded national practice.
The team acts for a diverse range of clients across the retail, leisure, development, investment and public sectors, advising on some of the most significant property disputes in the market.

The Role
You will handle a varied and technically challenging caseload of real estate litigation, advising clients on strategic and commercially important property disputes.
Your Work Will Include Matters Such As
- Landlord and tenant disputes
- Break notices
- Dilapidations
- Forfeiture and possession claims
- Lease renewals
- Rent recovery
- Service charge disputes
- Land registration issues
- Restrictive covenant disputes
- Rights to light
- Investment and development disputes
- Property-related insolvency matters
There will also be the opportunity to develop expertise in specialist areas including telecommunications, agricultural property, and public law matters.
Alongside your technical work, you will play an important role in developing client relationships and winning new business, raising your profile within the market and contributing to the team's wider business development strategy.
You will also be encouraged to take an active role in mentoring and developing junior members of the team.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be an experienced Real Estate Litigation Solicitor with a strong track record of handling complex property disputes.
You Will Ideally Have
- Strong experience in real estate litigation
- Experience managing complex and high-value property disputes
- Excellent technical and drafting skills
- Strong commercial awareness and a strategic approach to litigation
- The ability to develop trusted relationships with sophisticated clients
- A proven interest in business development and networking
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers
- The confidence and ambition to contribute to the continued growth of a market-leading practice
