Role Description

The Property Maintenance Engineer is a full-time, remote role responsible for maintaining and repairing building assets across a varied property portfolio. Day-to-day activities include:

The engineer will use digital tools and mobile technology to:

  • Receive work orders
  • Record findings
  • Upload documentation and images
  • Provide real-time updates for clients and internal teams

The role involves coordinating with supervisors, suppliers, and other engineers, prioritizing workloads, and managing time effectively to support high first-time fix rates. The Property Maintenance Engineer also contributes to continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues, suggesting technical solutions, and supporting best practices in facilities management.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical skills in property maintenance, including general building repairs, basic electrical or plumbing knowledge, and familiarity with statutory and preventative maintenance routines.
  • Ability to use digital systems and mobile devices for work order management, reporting, documentation upload, and photographic evidence capture.
  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and safe working practices in a facilities management environment.
  • Effective problem-solving and fault-finding skills, with the capability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and achieve high first-time fix rates.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, colleagues, and suppliers, and for completing accurate service reports.
  • Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship (e.g., building services, electrical, mechanical, or multi-skilled maintenance) and a valid driver’s license for site visits, where required.
  • Experience in facilities management or property maintenance across commercial, public, or residential settings is highly beneficial.
  • Comfort working remotely, with strong self-management, reliability, and commitment to delivering transparent, high-quality service.
