I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Right Candidate This role would suit an experienced Property Manager who genuinely enjoys the variety and pace that comes with managing a busy property portfolio. No two days are the same, so you will be someone who enjoys problem-solving, making decisions and seeing things through to completion.
You will also understand the importance of balancing the needs of landlords and tenants, whilst always remaining professional, fair and compliant.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has at least 1-2 years' experience in property management, or a background in a similar industry such as facilities or operations management
- Can confidently manage a busy workload, prioritise competing demands and keep on top of a busy inbox
- Has a keen eye for detail and understands that accuracy matters
- Takes ownership of problems rather than waiting for someone else to solve them
- Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to their own vehicle.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of residential properties from tenancy commencement through to move out, including deposit negotiations and release
- Supporting the tenant onboarding process, including referencing, tenancy agreements and compliance documentation

- Handling maintenance enquiries in accordance with our SLA
- Coordinating diaries and appointments, including contractor visits, property inspections, inventories and access arrangements
- Managing Landlord compliance requirements and certification
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with Landlords, tenants, contractors and suppliers, delivering a consistently high level of customer service
- Supporting the wider Lettings team with property viewings and other departmental duties as required
- Demonstrating a sound understanding of current lettings legislation and industry regulations.
