Property Manager

Location: Reading, Berkshire

Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 depending on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.30pm, with some Saturday working required

Experience: Circa 3 years' property management experience required

The opportunity

ProFind Property Recruitment is delighted to be working with an established and professional property business in Reading, Berkshire, who are looking to recruit an experienced Property Manager to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced residential Property Manager who enjoys taking ownership of their portfolio, building strong relationships with landlords and tenants, and delivering a consistently high standard of service.

We are looking for someone with circa three years' property management experience who is confident managing the day to day demands of a residential portfolio and has a good understanding of current lettings legislation and compliance.

The role

As Property Manager, you will be responsible for the effective management of a portfolio of residential properties, acting as the main point of contact for landlords and tenants throughout the tenancy.

You will manage maintenance, inspections, compliance and tenancy related matters, ensuring issues are dealt with efficiently and professionally while keeping all parties fully informed.

This is a varied role requiring excellent organisation, strong communication skills and the ability to prioritise effectively in a busy property management environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of residential properties
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for landlords and tenants
  • Coordinating maintenance and repairs, liaising with contractors and obtaining quotations where required
  • Managing maintenance issues through to satisfactory completion
  • Conducting and arranging routine property inspections
  • Reporting inspection findings and maintenance requirements to landlords
  • Managing tenancy renewals and associated administration
  • Dealing with end of tenancy matters and deposit negotiations
  • Liaising with tenants regarding rent arrears and tenancy related issues
  • Ensuring all properties remain compliant with current legislation and safety requirements
  • Maintaining accurate property and tenancy records
  • Liaising with contractors, inventory clerks and other third party suppliers
  • Handling landlord and tenant queries professionally and efficiently
  • Working closely with the wider lettings team to ensure a smooth customer journey
  • Managing your workload effectively and ensuring deadlines are met

About you

To be considered for this position, you should have:

  • Circa three years' experience within residential property management
  • A good working knowledge of current lettings legislation and compliance
  • Experience managing your own portfolio of residential properties
  • Strong landlord and tenant relationship management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • The ability to prioritise and manage multiple issues simultaneously
  • A calm, practical and solutions focused approach
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Confidence dealing with difficult or sensitive situations when required
  • Good IT and property management system skills
  • A full UK driving licence would be advantageous
