Role Description

The Property Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Letchworth. The individual in this role will oversee a portfolio of residential properties, acting as the main point of contact for landlords and tenants, handling queries and resolving issues promptly.

  • Arranging and managing inspections
  • Coordinating maintenance and repairs
  • Ensuring compliance with legal and safety regulations
  • Preparing relevant documentation

The Property Manager will manage tenancy renewals, check-ins and check-outs, monitor rent payments and arrears, and support the smooth operation of the lettings process.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Collaboration with colleagues across sales and lettings
  • Accurate record-keeping
  • Delivering a high level of customer service

Qualifications

  • Strong property management and lettings knowledge, including tenancy processes, rental market awareness, and basic understanding of relevant housing legislation.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and manage expectations of both landlords and tenants.
  • Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple properties, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities, including handling maintenance issues, complaints, and sensitive situations professionally.
  • Competence with property management software and standard office tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, CRM systems), and comfort working with digital records.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive, results-driven approach that aligns with Charter Whyman’s values of honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Previous experience in residential property management or lettings is highly beneficial; industry qualifications (e.g., ARLA/Propertymark or equivalent) are an advantage.
  • Ability to work on-site in Letchworth and travel locally for property visits and inspections as required.
