Property Manager - Job Description
About Scraye
Scraye is a startup building a next-generation platform to help users rent, buy and finance real estate. Renting or buying property can often be a frustrating experience, so we’ve made it simple for renters, buyers, landlords and agents to transact seamlessly at a fraction of the cost.
Coming from a multitude of backgrounds, we pride ourselves on how dynamic our team is and how much we are able to learn from each other. We're looking for someone seeking the opportunity to make history with a socially impactful technology platform that redefines how the real estate industry transacts.
If you are driven, organised, diligent and want to make a difference, we would love to connect.
About the Role
As a Property Manager, you will be part of Scraye’s Operations team, whose responsibility is to grow our platform by ensuring that our property operations are efficient, scalable and continuously improving. Taking initiative and ownership of your role is crucial to ensuring tasks are handled correctly and completed to a high standard.
As part of this team, you will be responsible for assisting with the smooth operation of our on-the-ground activities. These include general property management, supporting private landlords, listing administration, proofreading, coordinating with agencies, tenants and contractors, as well as a variety of operational assignments that may extend beyond the traditional scope of a property manager.
Every day is different at a startup, so you'll be learning and growing continuously. You'll have the support and knowledge of the entire team at your disposal, and we work together to solve problems and deliver results. Please note this is a full-time, office-based role requiring attendance in our Paddington, London office five days per week.
What You'll Do
The primary responsibilities include:
Property Management
As a natural multitasker and self-starter, you will manage property-related requests and tasks efficiently, setting priorities, understanding timelines and communicating clearly with tenants, landlords, agents and contractors. Taking ownership of a task from beginning to end is essential.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Planning & Administration
You will be responsible for planning and scheduling inventory reports, safety certificates, maintenance works, key handovers, key inventories and any other operational requirements relating to managed properties. You will coordinate requests from landlords and agents while ensuring the wider team remains informed of progress and updates.
Property Compliance
You will ensure our managed properties and operational processes comply with applicable UK property legislation, including the Renters' Rights Legislation, landlord and tenant law, safety regulations and all other relevant legal and compliance requirements. You will proactively monitor legislative changes, support their implementation across the business and provide accurate guidance to landlords, tenants, agents and internal teams where required.
Growth Operations
You will help maintain and improve key operational processes by responding to client enquiries, coordinating with landlords and agents, maintaining internal trackers and supporting the wider Operations team wherever required. Property management can be unpredictable, so there may occasionally be a need to assist outside standard working hours, including evenings or weekends, where urgent issues require prompt attention.
Key Traits
We are principally looking for someone who is:
- Committed and Hard Working: We've developed a wonderful culture but recognise that, as an ambitious startup, our team sometimes needs to go above and beyond to achieve our goals. If having a strictly predictable 9am-6pm workday is important to you, this is unlikely to be the right role. Our team works together from our Paddington office five days a week.
- Highly Capable: We aim to give our teammates responsibilities that match their ability. The more initiative you demonstrate and the more ownership you take, the faster your responsibilities and opportunities will grow.
- Proactive with Strong Commercial Judgement: We accomplish a great deal with a focused team. Being proactive, using common sense and understanding how to prioritise work that delivers the greatest impact are essential qualities for success.
- Organised and Able to Multitask: Although your primary focus will be property management, you'll also support other areas of the business when needed. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously are key.
- Thrive in a Fast-Paced Environment: Life at a startup is constantly evolving. You'll enjoy working in an environment where priorities can change quickly and no two days are the same.
- Great to Work With: We've worked hard to build a team that is talented, respectful, collaborative and supportive. We value people who contribute positively to our culture and enjoy working as part of a close-knit team.
