Contract term: Full time
Salary scale: £38,593 - £42,881 (plus essential car user allowance)
Work arrangements: 4-day (32 hour) working week (closed Friday) split between home and office (Dalkeith, Midlothian)

Join our busy Property Services team and help us deliver a repairs service that makes a real difference to our tenants.
As a Property Services Officer, you’ll play an important role in making sure our reactive and planned maintenance services are delivered efficiently, professionally and to a high standard. Working closely with tenants, contractors and colleagues, you’ll help manage our repairs contracts from start to finish, ensuring work is completed safely, on time and in line with agreed specifications and legislation.
Reporting to the Senior Property Officer, you’ll monitor contractor performance and service quality, carry out quality control checks and help us understand how satisfied our tenants are with the service they receive. You’ll also keep a close eye on compliance, health and safety and contractual requirements, raising any concerns promptly with contractors and senior colleagues.

You’ll have a good working knowledge of the standards and legislation relating to annual gas servicing and maintenance, fire detection and electrical safety in tenants’ homes. You’ll be confident identifying potential issues and taking action to make sure our homes remain safe and compliant.
This is a role where organisation and attention to detail really matter. You’ll have strong administrative and IT skills, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and be comfortable managing information, monitoring timescales and maintaining accurate records.
Just as importantly, you’ll be someone who enjoys working with people. You’ll build positive relationships with tenants, contractors and colleagues, communicate confidently and contribute to our enthusiastic and supportive team. You’ll also be comfortable working independently, using your own initiative and taking responsibility for getting things done.
