We currently have a full-time vacancy for a Property Officer based at Braintree. This role is 37 hours per week Monday to Friday.

This role has been designated as a ‘Static Worker’ role which means that you will work solely from an office within an office-based team. Travel may be required to other police sites across the county as part of the role, therefore, it is desirable that you hold a full, clean, current driving licence.

You will be working as part of a small team overseeing the storage of evidential Property. You will need to be able to show that you can work collaboratively with others, providing help and support when needed. Our customers come from a range of different backgrounds and you need to demonstrate an ability to treat others with respect and to remain calm in the face of provocation.

Your role will be assisting with the administration and storage in respect of items of property, including evidential items to support cases being investigated.

As the successful candidate you will ensure that all items of property entering police possession are accurately recorded on to the Property Management computer system and securely stored having regard to any possible hazards. IT skills are desirable and you must be able to demonstrate knowledge of and be competent in the use of Information Technology such as standard office products, spreadsheets and structured databases, with an understanding of the importance of keeping data safe.

You will also be responsible for the retention and disposal of the property in accordance with Force policy. Attention to detail, accuracy and compliance with relevant documentation, legislation and working practices are essential in this important operational support role. You must have a proven ability to problem solve, taking responsibility for your own action and referring to policy and procedure as required.
