About us

Sidekick Accounting Ltd is an ICAEW-regulated chartered accountancy practice. Our property division is growing, with a consistent flow of work covering incorporation, portfolio restructuring, SDLT, capital gains on disposals and non-resident landlord matters.

We are seeking a property tax specialist to own the division's advisory work end-to-end.

The role

This is a combined advisory and business development position. You will be the technical lead and the first point of contact for prospective clients — conducting discovery calls, scoping and pricing engagements, and delivering the resulting advisory work.

You will not be responsible for lead generation, compliance filings, scheduling or administration. A support team will handle first-stage qualification where necessary, onboarding, coordination and ongoing compliance, so your time is spent on client conversations and technical delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct discovery calls with qualified inbound enquiries and assess suitability
  • Scope, price and convert advisory engagements
  • Deliver property tax advisory work, including incorporation modelling and feasibility analysis, portfolio restructuring, SDLT and CGT planning, and non-resident landlord matters
  • Prepare written advice and reports to the standard expected of an ICAEW-regulated practice
  • Work with the support team to transition new clients into ongoing compliance
  • Maintain accurate records and adhere to the practice's engagement, AML and file review procedures

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Essential

  • CTA qualified, or equivalent demonstrable depth in UK property taxation
  • Substantive experience advising landlords, investors or developers on ownership structure, incorporation, SDLT and CGT
  • Confidence and credibility in a client-facing commercial conversation, including scoping and closing engagements
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own diary reliably
  • Comfortable working remotely with a distributed team

Desirable

  • Experience in a small or owner-managed practice environment
  • Familiarity with HMRC clearance procedures

Compensation and working pattern

Compensation is a fixed monthly retainer, pro-rated to the days you work, plus commission on advisory work you win and deliver. The commission rate is the same regardless of the number of days worked, so a reduced week affects volume rather than your rate.

What we offer

  • Fully remote working, with flexible hours around agreed client availability
  • A steady, established pipeline of qualified enquiries — no cold outreach or marketing responsibility
  • First-stage qualification, administrative, onboarding and compliance support
  • Direct access to the practice principal and genuine influence over how the division develops
  • Scope to increase days or move to a permanent arrangement as the division grows

How to apply

Applications are through a short form rather than a CV upload — it takes about eight minutes and includes two scenario questions and a two-minute Loom video:
