In-House Property Valuer

Location: Altrincham, Greater Manchester (Office Based)
Salary: DOE
Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent

About Somo

Somo is an award-winning specialist bridging lender, providing fast, flexible property finance across England and Wales. Since 2014, Somo has completed over £403 million of lending by combining common-sense underwriting with a pragmatic approach to property-backed lending.

As we continue to grow, we're looking to appoint an In-House Property Valuer to work alongside our underwriting team, providing independent property analysis and valuation support to help drive informed lending decisions.

The Role

This is an office-based position supporting our lending team through detailed property assessment and valuation review.

We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have previously worked within a specialist lender, bridging lender or bank as an in-house valuer or valuation analyst.

This is not a fee-earning surveying role and Professional Indemnity Insurance is not required.

You'll provide an independent view of property security, challenge valuation assumptions where appropriate and support the underwriting team in assessing lending risk.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
