A leading multidisciplinary consultancy is looking for a confident, hands-on Proposal Specialist to join their growing team in Newcastle.
The consultancy works across a broad range of sectors with projects ranging from highly technical developments to some genuinely unusual and internationally significant schemes.
This is a newly created position due to growth, and it’s a really interesting opportunity for someone who is ready to take genuine ownership of the pursuit process. You'll have direct exposure to senior Directors and work alongside an established proposals and marketing team, reporting into a supportive and knowledgeable Director.
What’s the role?
This is predominantly a bids and proposals role, with some wider marketing and business development support.
You’ll work closely with senior Directors and technical teams, coordinating multiple live opportunities and making sure each submission is developed, managed and delivered to a high standard.

Responsibilities include:
- Managing bids and proposals from opportunity through to final submission
- Setting bid programmes and coordinating kick-off meetings
- Working with Directors, technical teams and external consultants to gather information
- Developing and editing written content and bid narratives
- Sourcing project experience, case studies, CVs and technical information
- Managing graphics and producing polished submissions in InDesign
- Editing and proofreading content
- Keeping contributors on track and confidently chasing information when deadlines are approaching
- Coordinating RFQs, RFPs, tenders, interviews and presentations
- Managing several live pursuits at different stages
Key Skills Required:
- Prior experience in a similar bids/proposals specialist role with genuine end-to-end bid/proposal experience
- Experience within architecture, engineering, construction, property, infrastructure or another professional services environment is preferred
- The ability to take ownership of submissions
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Confidence working with senior Directors and technical professionals
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- Strong Adobe InDesign skills
- The resilience and diplomacy to keep people accountable to deadlines
