Part of SGC’s Commercial Buildings division, Synergy Projects Ltd. (SPL) is an Alberta-based, full-service construction firm specializing in general construction, design-build, and construction management services. SPL is focused on the commercial construction market, including major and structural construction and tenant improvements, and has been in business for more than 30 years as the original construction arm within SGC.

We are looking for a Proposal Specialist to join our Edmonton team. This position is dedicated to supporting Synergy Projects while collaborating with the centralized Marketing & Communications team on initiatives that strengthen the Synergy brand across our group of companies.
About The Role
Reporting to the Vice President & District Manager (Synergy Projects Ltd.), the Proposal Specialist is responsible for coordinating and developing high-quality proposals, qualifications, presentations and marketing materials that support business development and project pursuits.
Working closely with the District Manager, Business Development, Estimators, Project Managers and operational leaders, you will help position Synergy Projects to win work while also contributing to broader marketing and communications initiatives across the Synergy Group of Companies.

Proposal Development (Primary Focus)
- Lead the coordination and production of RFQs, RFPs, EOIs, and proposal submissions from opportunity identification through final submission.
- Review client requirements and establish proposal schedules, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with operations, estimating and business development teams to gather technical content.
- Write, edit, and format proposal responses that are accurate, compelling, and client-focused.
- Develop professional proposal layouts using Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office.
- Maintain proposal templates, resumes, project profiles, photography, and content libraries.
- Monitor procurement websites and identify upcoming opportunities.
- Support continuous improvement of proposal tools, templates, and submission processes.
Marketing & Communications
- Support marketing initiatives for Synergy Projects and collaborate on corporate initiatives across the Synergy Group of Companies.
- Develop client presentations, award submissions, brochures, and promotional materials.
- Coordinate project photography, success stories, and project profiles.
- Assist with website content, social media, and internal communications.
- Ensure marketing materials are consistent with corporate brand standards.
- Support special events, community initiatives, and employee engagement activities as required.
What You Bring
- Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in proposal coordination, marketing or communications.
- Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organization and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with operational leaders and technical teams.
- Experience in commercial construction, engineering or the AEC industry is considered a strong asset.
