Proposal Writer – Full-Time, Office-Based (London)

We are seeking a Proposal Writer to join our Proposal and Feasibility team in London. In this role, you will collaborate closely with operations and business development teams to prepare proposals for new business in the pharmaceutical industry. There will be opportunities to develop strategic content at the intersection of science, operations, and finance while growing your career.

This position leverages your academic skills or prior expertise—such as copy editing or scientific publishing—while offering an exciting career opportunity with room for further development.


Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for leading proposal planning and execution, including:

  • Meeting facilitation:

    • Organising and leading proposal planning meetings
    • Identifying issues and client requirements
  • Strategy and planning:

    • Recommending proposal and study strategies based on experience
    • Encouraging multi-disciplinary discussions with subject matter experts to ensure high-quality text contributions
    • Establishing timelines and deliverables to keep stakeholders accountable
    • Defining action plans and timelines, including managing modifications to align proposals with client requirements and business strategies
  • Content extraction and consolidation:

    • Extracting relevant content from subject matter experts and synthesising this expertise into a coherent proposal narrative
    • Including relevant data visualisation materials in documents

  • Document review and analysis:

    • Assessing Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Information (RFI) documents, clarifying client requirements, and identifying missing information
    • Collaborating with stakeholders to compile follow-up questions for clarification where necessary
  • Document drafting and approval:

    • Drafting standard proposal documents within agreed strategies and expedited timelines
    • Supporting process improvement initiatives and ensuring their implementation
  • Quality assurance:

    • Performing quality control and peer reviews of proposals
    • Contributing to the finalisation of documents for client and internal distribution

Requirements

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • A PhD in a life science field (mandatory)
  • Strong ability to learn with initiative
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Project management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple projects and tasks
