Main Purpose of the Job
We are seeking a detail-oriented Proposals Manager to join our Complex Chemicals Division. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing high-quality, proposals for our customers and will require collaboration with our commercial teams ensuring alignment with customer needs and industry standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Screen new RFPs for technical fit coordinating with Biosynth technical leads.
- Assist business development team in client facing calls to extract necessary information from the client to build a professional and accurate proposal.
- Estimate project costs for new project RFPs, resupply batches, and change orders by working with site technical leads.
- Create a professional proposal which summarizes the pricing strategy and technical approach for each project.
- Enable proposal approval process from the ground up, from initial technical review and final leadership approval of the project strategy and cost structure.
- Suggest cost strategy for each work package in a proposal in communication with technical leads and business development.
- Be the lead for each proposal driving the completion while keeping site technical leads, business developers and business unit leadership updated with progress and informing of any information required to finalize proposal.
- Perform workflows in Biosynth systems relating to proposal and quotation management.
- Review the results of completed projects with management to ensure the ongoing costing structure in proposals is accurate and profitable.

Candidate requirements
- PhD or MSc in organic chemistry.
- Scientific/technical/chemical writing – ideally for a CDMO or Pharmaceutical company or similar.
- Experience in process chemistry and/or biocatalysis would be desirable but not essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable to communicate and influence with senior Biosynth leaders.
- Detail oriented.
- Multi-task and ability to prioritize more critical proposals over less critical.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 and other relevant software.
