Proposition Director
Ever tried building a lettings proposition that has to work for landlords, tenants and investors, and still land differently in every branch and region it touches? That's the challenge waiting for our new Proposition Director, joining Lomond Group on a 12 month fixed term contract with an immediate start. You'll be based at our St Mary Axe head office, working hybrid (three days in the office) with regular time out across the regions meeting the teams bringing your propositions to life. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you'll own the proposition strategy for Lomond Lettings end to end, turning market insight and commercial data into products and services that genuinely work for landlords, tenants and investors alike.
This is a newly created, critical seat at the table for Lomond. As our Proposition Director, you'll touch every part of the business, from branch conversations to boardroom strategy, and we need someone who can hold that whole picture, build the commercial case, and see it through to market. You'll work closely with Finance, Sales, Marketing, Operations & Technology, and report weekly into our new Trading Meeting, shaping how we compete and grow.
What You'll Be Doing
- Define and own the proposition strategy for lettings, agreeing priorities with the Chief Commercial Officer and wider leadership team
- Identify and evaluate new product, service and revenue opportunities across the lettings value chain, building the business case before any development begins
- Lead new propositions from concept to launch, delivering a differentiated offering in market within 6 months
- Continuously evolve existing propositions in response to market trends, competitor activity and performance data
- Build a deep understanding of landlord, tenant and investor needs through ongoing research, translating insight into proposition improvements
- Track market trends, regulatory change and competitor activity to keep strategy current and evidence based
- Own the pricing strategy and commercial performance for each proposition, working with Finance to track margin and revenue against target
- Report proposition performance weekly to the Chief Commercial Officer and leadership team at the Trading Meeting, flagging risks and opportunities
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Operations & Technology to deliver propositions against plan, acting as the key stakeholder for proposition decisions
- Build strong relationships with branch and regional teams to test propositions in practice, and ensure every proposition meets lettings regulation, working with Legal & Compliance

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
