About The Team

The Proposition Team governs our financial planning proposition, maintaining product panels, advice policies and governance frameworks while providing advisers with the research, guidance and tools needed to deliver consistent, high-quality client outcomes. The team also monitors market and regulatory developments and supports proposition-related business initiatives.

About The Role

The Proposition & Governance Manager is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the firm's product governance framework, ensuring the ongoing suitability, oversight and governance of the firm's adviser propositions, product panel and related advice solutions.

Working closely with the Head of Proposition, Compliance, Planning Teams and external providers, the role provides subject matter expertise, regulatory knowledge and technical leadership to support good client outcomes, regulatory compliance and business growth.

The role combines governance, research, technical expertise and provider oversight, ensuring that proposition decisions are evidence-based, well governed and aligned to the needs of clients and advisers. This role is a key contributor to the firm's Consumer Duty and PROD responsibilities and helps ensure that proposition governance remains scalable as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversight and maintenance of the firm's product governance framework.
  • Oversight and governance of product panels, platforms, providers and advice solutions.
  • Delivery of provider due diligence, panel reviews and proposition recommendations.
  • Support of the firm's Consumer Duty and PROD requirements, including target market assessment, fair value considerations, consumer outcome monitoring and the identification and escalation of proposition-related risks.
  • Provision of technical expertise and proposition guidance to advisers and stakeholders.
  • Delivery of proposition training, communications and technical briefings.
  • Management of key relationships with providers, industry stakeholders and business functions.
  • Oversight and development of proposition and policy governance frameworks.
  • Development and enhancement of adviser propositions and associated client solutions.
  • Production of governance reporting, management information, committee papers and recommendations.

Essential

What we are looking for

  • Strong understanding of retail financial products and adviser propositions.
  • Good understanding of FCA regulation, Consumer Duty and PROD requirements.
  • Ability to interpret technical information and communicate it clearly.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work across teams with multiple stakeholders.

Desirable

  • Chartered Financial Planner status.
  • Experience of product governance, due diligence or proposition management within a proposition, technical, compliance or research function.
  • Knowledge of platform, pension, protection and investment markets.
  • Experience producing reports, recommendations and governance papers for management and decision-making forums.
  • Experience using data, reporting and AI-enabled tools to improve governance processes.
