We’re looking for a Proposition Manager to join us in the Workplace Pensions Proposition team on a fixed term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of Royal London's workplace pension proposition and play a role in delivering Royal London’s strategy. You'll work on initiatives that improve outcomes for customers, employers, and advisers, while developing expertise across proposition development, governance, and delivery.
As a Proposition Manager, you’ll use insight, conduct analysis, and solve problems as a key member of the team. You’ll work closely with Proposition Owners to shape the proposition and define requirements.
You’ll collaborate with distribution, marketing, actuarial teams, legal and risk partners, and operational colleagues to make sure our propositions deliver great outcomes and offer value for money. In addition, you’ll play a key role in supporting delivery teams in implementing customer-focused, compliant, and commercial proposition changes.
About the Role
- Understand and articulate the vision and priorities for the workplace proposition.
- Use customer research, behavioral insight, complaints trends, colleague feedback, and market intelligence to shape effective and compliant proposition solutions.
- Solve problems and find ways to achieve target outcomes, analyzing options and making recommendations.
- Shape and influence proposition enhancements from concept through to implementation, ensuring changes deliver measurable customer and commercial value.
- Support governance and decision-making forums by producing clear papers and supporting analysis.
- Support the delivery of change initiatives, leading workstreams where appropriate.
- Develop technical expertise in our workplace propositions, to support decision making and ensuring product materials remain accurate and fit for purpose.
- Display workplace pension market knowledge and curiosity to increase your understanding and competitor activity across the workplace and wider markets.
- Influence stakeholders across the business to build alignment and support proposition recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve end-to-end product journeys and ensure propositions deliver strong customer and commercial outcomes.
- Identify and manage risks, ensuring governance expectations are met and decisions reflect customer, business, and regulatory needs.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
