About the Role

The combination of Coventry Building Society and The Co‑operative Bank has created the UK’s seventh‑largest mortgage lender and a strong mutual alternative to the big banks across retail and business banking.

We have an opportunity for a Propositions Manager to join a newly formed Business & Commercial Banking Proposition team at an early and influential stage of its journey. The team is building its proposition capability from the ground up, so this role is suited to a solid Proposition Manager or someone with strong sector knowledge who can bring depth of expertise, shape ways of working, and help establish best practice across the team.

The team is dedicated to making a genuine difference for our customers, communities, and the planet. We focus on creating solutions that truly matter, ensuring our work is relevant and impactful for everyone we serve.

The role focuses on the customer value proposition, why customers choose the Group, and how they are built and evolved. Working with key stakeholders, the focus is on customer definition alongside the development and delivery of a clear customer strategy, shaping the end‑to‑end customer journey, and ensuring propositions are differentiated through strong market and competitor insight.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
