JOB TITLE: Propositions Manager (Complex Pensions)
SALARY: £61,344 to £74,900pa plus an extensive benefits package.
LOCATIONS: Edinburgh, Leeds or Bristol.
HOURS: Full-time.
WORKING PATTERN:
Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites. Colleagues with disabilities can be supported with workplace adjustments including hybrid working expectations in line with our Flexibility Works policy.
Our Complex Pensions Team manages a diverse range of Self-Invested Personal Pension (SIPP) products, including both branded and white label propositions. We specialise in overseeing technically complex pension arrangements, providing proposition management, regulatory oversight, supplier governance and customer-focused solutions across a varied legacy and specialist pensions estate. Our mission is simple: to make complex pensions simpler, safer and more effective for customers and partners.
What you’ll be doing
- Analysing customer, operational, regulatory and commercial data from multiple sources to identify emerging themes, risks, customer harms and opportunities to improve customer outcomes. You'll also prepare high-quality insight and recommendations for senior meetings to support effective decision making.
- Supporting the governance and oversight of our products throughout their lifecycle, balancing customer, regulatory and business objectives. You'll work collaboratively across teams to develop practical and sustainable solutions.
- Assessing the impact of regulatory developments, industry change and emerging market trends, recommending and supporting the implementation of appropriate business responses.
- Leading reviews of customer communications, product literature and customer outcome assessments, ensuring communications are clear, accurate, compliant and customer focused.
- Working closely with internal teams, suppliers and external partners to deliver product, customer, and business led outcomes, while driving continuous improvement activity.
- You'll see shortcomings within existing business practices and recommend solutions to improve controls, processes and ways of working.
- Contributing to our future strategy, through proposition reviews, regulatory change programmes and business transformation activities, helping to shape the direction of the business.
- Using risk management frameworks and controls to ensure the organisation is safeguarded against customer, regulatory or operational risk.

What you'll need
- Proven product management experience, ideally within a pensions, financial services or another regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of Consumer Duty principles and their application to product governance, customer outcomes and decision making.
- Knowledge of SIPP pension products would be an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to interpret multi-source data, identifying key themes and turning this insight into meaningful actions and recommendations for a senior audience.
- Experience assessing customer outcomes, working within existing risk frameworks to identify potential customer harms under Consumer Duty principles and using data evidence to design improvements for customers and the business through appropriate controls.
- Strong influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with business teams, suppliers and external partners to deliver outcomes.
- Confidence in producing high-quality reports, papers and recommendations.
