LOCATION: Wolverhampton EPMC

This role currently operates on a 2 shift pattern (Earlies 06:00-14:00 and Afternoons 14:00-22:00 (less 1 hour on a Friday) but may move to a 3 shift pattern (Earlies, Afternoons and Nights 22:00-06:00)

In the Manufacturing team at JLR’s Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre (EPMC), you’ll help power iconic electric cars. You will be working alongside incredible technicians and leaders to drive our commitment to shape a future we truly believe in, together. As a QE Propulsion Technician, you'll play a key role in validating propulsion test processes, supporting investigations and helping deliver robust, reliable products for our clients. It's a chance to channel your curiosity, work with pioneering brands and products, and continuously grow your technical expertise as electrification and testing capabilities evolve.

Here's what to expect:

  • Supporting propulsion testing, validation and investigation activities to ensure products meet engineering specifications and quality requirements
  • Validating test processes and results, ensuring testing standards, conformity requirements and procedures are consistently applied
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify issues, support problem-solving activities and deliver sustainable improvements
  • Developing and maintaining testing processes, facilities, equipment readiness and supporting documentation to improve operational effectiveness
  • Analysing propulsion test data and supporting quality investigations, strip-down activities and component assessments to drive quality improvements

What You’ll Need

Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that you'll need to have to help you succeed here, including:

  • Holding a STEM NVQ Level 3 qualification
  • Demonstrating technical knowledge of propulsion testing, including engines, electric drive units and battery systems
  • Applying experience within test cell environments and using relevant testing, calibration and data analysis tools
  • Using problem-solving methodologies and analytical skills to investigate issues and support continuous improvement activities
  • Building effective relationships across teams, influencing stakeholders and communicating technical information clearly
