Protec - Fire and Security Apprentice Recruitment

Protec has been a significant player in the fire and security industry for over 50 years. From their formation in 1968, it has expanded and developed with the times, making it the well known and established brand it is today. Protec are now looking to recruit TWO new apprentices for their South East operations!

Job Description

Please note - this is a field-based role. There is no fixed office address, and the work covers London and the surrounding areas.

There will be an assessment centre held for this vacancy for anyone shortlisted on November 12th in Denham, Uxbridge. Please ensure you can attend on this day, as there is no flexibility for this date to change.

As an apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to install, maintain, and fault-find on the following systems:

Entry Requirements

  • A driving license would be a bonus, but not essential if you live in one of the postcodes listed on this vacancy
  • Basic electrics knowledge would be a bonus
  • Willing to pass an SPL background check as part of the recruitment process
  • Comfortable working at height, due to the nature of the role
  • Willing to travel up north 1 week every 8 weeks to the Warrington training centre (travel and accommodation costs are covered by the employer)
  • Keen to learn more about the wider fire and security industry

Your apprenticeship training is delivered by Skills for Security, specialists in fire and security training.

You’ll train through block release at our Warrington centre, for one week every eight weeks (Tuesday–Friday).

You’ll work towards a Level 3 Fire, Emergency & Security Systems Technician apprenticeship, gaining real skills and a nationally recognised qualification.

What you’ll do as part of the programme:

  • Train hands-on with real systems
  • Learn from industry experts
  • Complete a wide range of tasks and projects
  • Build evidence from your job to support your learning
  • Sit annual assessments at the centre
