Protection Adviser – Warm Leads Provided
Self-Employed | £2,000 Monthly Retainer + Commission | Circa £50,000 OTE
Finance Magic is expanding its protection team and is looking for an experienced Protection Adviser to join a fast-paced, performance-focused team.
This role is built for an adviser who wants to spend their time speaking to clients, giving advice and writing business — rather than constantly prospecting for leads or getting buried in unnecessary admin.
High-intent leads provided
We provide a consistent flow of high-intent protection leads through a range of live hot-key lead sources. These are customers who are actively ready to discuss their protection needs, including:
- Life Insurance
- Critical Illness Cover
- Income Protection
Your role is to understand the client's circumstances, identify their protection needs, provide suitable advice and convert quality opportunities into good client outcomes.
Focused provider panel
We deliberately work with a focused panel of selected protection providers, including Scottish Widows, National Friendly and Guardian 1821, Cirecenster Friendly, Holloway Friendly.
Rather than expecting advisers to navigate an unnecessarily large number of insurers, systems and sourcing routes, our model is designed to keep the advice process streamlined. You'll develop a strong working knowledge of our providers, their propositions, underwriting and application processes — meaning less time sourcing, switching between systems and dealing with admin, and more time speaking to clients and writing business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Client needs and suitability remain central to every recommendation, but we've deliberately designed the process to be efficient and straightforward for our advisers.
£2,000 monthly retainer + commission
This is a self-employed position with a £2,000 monthly retainer, equivalent to £24,000 per year. Alongside the retainer, you'll benefit from a staggered production-based commission structure, meaning stronger production is rewarded with stronger earnings. A good-performing adviser should be looking at circa £50,000 OTE, with further earning potential linked to production.
A working day built around focused calling
We structure the day around three dedicated calling sessions. Rather than expecting advisers to sit continuously in front of a computer all day, you'll have proper time away from the desk between sessions — whether that's lunch, the gym, personal appointments or simply taking a break and resetting. We also finish early on Fridays.
