We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our Global Protective Security team in the role of Protective Security, Governance Support Manager.
You’ll help strengthen how HSBC protects its colleagues, customers and assets. This is a high-impact opportunity to work across regions, markets and senior stakeholders, influence global standards and turn risk and control insights into practical action. You’ll be part of a supportive, people-focused team where the outcomes are tangible.
Responsibilities
In this role you will:
- Manage global Protective Security governance meetings, including agendas, chairing, minutes, actions and escalations
- Coordinate submissions to upstream governance forums, such as Business Risk and Resilience and GCOO Risk & Control Management Meetings
- Oversee the Protective Security control environment, including the collation and quality assurance of key control indicators and effectiveness ratings
- Coordinate quarterly Control Owner attestations and associated uploads to Helios
- Track and oversee remediation of issues arising from 1/2/3LoD, ensuring clear ownership and timely closure
- Review and improve Protective Security data quality, developing metrics, identifying data concerns and strengthening management reporting
- Support the maintenance of global Protective Security standards, reflecting changes in the threat profile, while contributing to training, knowledge-sharing and process simplification

Requirements
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Proven experience working in Protective Security, including a strong understanding of the bank’s physical security controls and their application
- Experience supporting a Protective Security team or delivering relevant business-as-usual physical security activities
- Demonstrable understanding of the Protective Security continuous control monitoring plan and Protective Security global standards
- Experience coordinating governance meetings and oversight activities, including preparing agendas and papers, recording decisions, tracking actions and managing escalations
- Experience managing non-financial risk, controls and issue remediation, with an understanding of HSBC’s Risk Management Framework
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and confident presentation. Ability to explain complex or technical information clearly to non-specialist stakeholders
- Proven ability to collaborate with, influence and constructively challenge senior stakeholders across the first, second and third lines of defence, supported by strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, including pivot tables, lookups and data visualisation
