To carry out laboratory experimentation to support the Technology Transfer, Development and Siting of new processes for GMP, and to assist in manufacture.

Chief Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Laboratory work:

  • Plan and carry out experiments and analysis, as outlined by the project lead, to ensure effective technology transfer and development of fit for purpose processes in line with customer requirements.
  • Record all laboratory work in standard official notebooks and compile results and observations for incorporation into technical reports. Adhere to the relevant procedures.
  • Client communication (as required) in a professional manner.

Quality:

  • Follow laboratory procedures to ensure that the work is carried out safely, effectively, and to an appropriate quality standard.
  • Follow protocols and procedures.

Manufacturing Support:

  • Communicate with other technical personnel in PDev, ADev, QC, and manufacturing to exchange information and results that are required to assist in progressing development work.
  • Carry out manufacturing support for first-time manufacturing operations, troubleshoot scaled-up processes, and provide first-line technical support.

Housekeeping / ESH:

  • Ensure the development laboratory and other associated areas are kept in control and in a compliant manner.
  • Ensure safety and hygiene standards are maintained.
  • Comply with COSHH and Risk assessments.

Training:

  • Provide on-the-job training to new or inexperienced personnel in both laboratory procedures and equipment use.

Critical Tasks

  • Ensure project timelines are met.
  • Ensure accuracy of raw data and analytical interpretations.
  • Identify opportunities for enhanced efficiency, cost control, and safety/development performance.

Key Result Areas & Measures (Quantitative/KPI/Qualitative)

  • Provide experimental effort for development projects and assist project lead in data collation for presentation and reporting.
  • Work within the operational and ESH guidelines of the company.
  • Financial deliverables.
