Job Description
Provisioning Engineer - DWDM / Ciena 6500
£300 per day | Inside IR35 | Hybrid - London
We are looking for an experienced Provisioning Engineer with strong expertise in optical transmission, DWDM and Ciena 6500 technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and document transmission and packet network solutions.
- Provision, configure and test network elements across optical and L2/L3 technologies.
- Support customer service activation, implementation and network upgrades.
- Manage network capacity, disconnects and capacity reallocation.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and network records.
- Ensure designs and implementations meet technical and industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network and provisioning issues.

Key Skills & Experience
- Extensive optical transmission / DWDM experience.
- Strong hands-on Ciena 6500 experience.
- Good knowledge of DWDM, ROADM, Flexgrid and photonic layer technologies.
- Understanding of L2/L3 operator networks, with BGP/MPLS knowledge advantageous.
- Experience with optical test equipment and performance monitoring.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- Experience with Nokia, ADVA advantageous.
- Cisco, Juniper, Nokia or Ciena certification is a plus.
