A vacancy has arisen within the Temporary Accommodation (TA) Team for a Tenant Recharge Officer.

The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across the Temporary Accommodation Team and Housing Repairs Service to recover tenant recharge costs across the Council's temporary accommodation portfolio. This is a key role that requires the ability to build positive working relationships, investigate recharge cases and work proactively to maximise cost recovery.

The post holder will need excellent communication, customer service and negotiation skills, together with the ability to deal confidently and professionally with tenants, contractors and internal stakeholders. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential.

This role operates on a blended working basis, with a combination of home working, office-based work and visits to temporary accommodation properties as required.

Key requirements:

  • Experience of working in a housing, income recovery or customer-focused environment.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the effective management of the Council's temporary accommodation service while helping to maximise recovery of tenant recharge costs.
