PSV Technician Contractor - London
Rate: £34p/h
Hours: Full-time, various shifts available
Start Date: Immediate / ASAP
NMS Recruit are currently looking for experienced PSV Technicians / Bus Mechanics to support a number of busy transport operators across London. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced PSV Engineers looking for contract work, with ongoing assignments available across a number of London workshop locations.
The Role
As a PSV Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing and repair of a modern fleet of buses and commercial passenger vehicles.
Your duties will include:
- Carrying out routine servicing and preventative maintenance
- Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and vehicle system faults
- Completing mechanical repairs to PSV vehicles
- Working on braking, suspension, steering and drivetrain systems
- Carrying out inspections and defect rectification
- Preparing vehicles for MOT and safety inspections
- Using diagnostic equipment where required
- Completing relevant maintenance documentation
- Ensuring vehicles are maintained to DVSA and operator standards

Requirements
- Previous experience working as a PSV Technician, Bus Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician
- Experience maintaining buses, coaches or heavy commercial vehicles
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent preferred
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Own tools where required
- Ability to work independently within a busy workshop environment
- A PSV licence is advantageous but not essential.
